Our agency usually calls us the first week of each month and one of the Guatemala contacts has been sick so the wait has been way too long for me! So I finally called them this evening and asked if our number had changed from #33. AND IT DID! WE ARE #26 on the wait list for a baby girl! I had goose bumps and felt emotional about this giant leap! How exciting. I was told though that December and January are slower months and that our number for next month might not move much. But that's ok. I've had some ask why there is a wait list when there wasn't one with their agency. All God's Children only places children from their orphanage. They don't use lawyers or other folks to "find available children". They also don't use the foster care system in Guatemala. The children are very well taken care of. Those who have gone before me have told me the babies get daily massages, outdoor play everyday, are rocked to sleep (Yes, rocked to sleep! What a blessing for an orphaned child) and sleep with music on all night. This is music to my soul. I sleep with our babies and play music for them all night! There are two "special mothers" to every three children. AGCI also has a home called Promise of Life for birth mothers to live, get free medical-care and support. Larry and I have all the faith in the world that this is the agency we were suppose to use! What an exciting time. Please remember to pray for the birth mothers as they move through a most difficult time in their lives.
