Sweetest day...was when?

Yeah, it got looked right over in the G home this past weekend. Both dh and I never saw it coming. Dh blames the state he grew up in, Indiana, cause he said they didn't celebrate that "holiday" growing up among the rows of corn. But what was my excuse?? So in honor of Sweetest Day I want to post a picture of all my sweeties and what makes them so sweet! (in order from oldest to youngest)

My dh is probably one of the best dad's that I know. He is a kind of dad that wants to be connected to his kids; he wants to know what they dream about. On any given day that dh is home you will most likely see him playing with the kids, either swinging the little ones, playing catch with "Troy", chalk with "Elizabeth", legos, board games, going on bike rides, this dad does it all! On top of helping the kiddos keep their rooms clean and doing more than his share around the house! Outside of our family dh has a heart to serve the community and I think is in the planning stages (very early, still mentally at this time) of creating a mission trip to Ethiopia. And he loves crazy ole' me! Now that says alot!!

This is the child that everyone asked, for about three years, if the umbilical cord was still attached! And it might as well of been as he was either being carried in our arms, a backpack or a sling for the first 2-3 years of his life! I purchased books like The High Need Baby which I really needed for a few years with this one! BUT he is a very well attached kid with a great sense of right and wrong. He is sensitive to others and looks out for the little ones. I hear him say several times a day to his new sister that she is beautiful and "I love You" (now if I could get him to do this to ALL his siblings). He is such a sweet kid with a very active conscious. He has lots of friends whose parents love him. He is very respectful to teachers and coaches and can hang with adults with ease. I pray he keeps his eyes on Jesus as he grows into a wonderful young man!

Miss "Elizabeth" loves that her name (her real name) means "wise" and has taken off with that since she found out! She is so proud to be so "smart"! Elizabeth has her own unique style and knows what she likes!Being a big sister to her little sister and little brother is one of them! She is helpful and enjoys the company of a few. No big parties for her, just a few of her friends that she is very loyal too. As Elizabeth gets bigger and bigger so does her sweetness and loving personality! Helping me out in the kitchen puts a smile on her face! Her hugs and kisses are very genuine. I see God using her to impact those she is close too.I can hardly take credit for this sweet girl. Our Major Cutie is so very sweet and caring. She loves to give her love away. I think some of her favorite things to do it to brush my hair (and her siblings) and she asks "please" to put lotion on me. She loves to lotion you all up! Major Cutie has allowed me to love her, to take care of her, to become her momma. She has allowed this family to become her family. She easily laughs, smiles and trusts. I pray that she will see how much God loves her and how He so wonderfully took care of her while she waited to come home to us.This is my Boo. He is super sweet and has the funniest things to say. Sometimes I wonder where he comes up with the stuff he says! He loves to be super silly and for the most part is pretty compliant. He doesn't often give us a hard time. Sure he has his moments but they are very short lived. Boo can make friends with anyone young or old! And I find that most 5 year olds enjoy hanging out with him! God can always use more people who get along easily with others!

Well that's it. This is my family. Of course we also have two cats and a fun pupper named Finnegan too. I have been so blessed. Even on the hard days it is a blessing. I love my family. My prayer isn't that they'll grow up to bless me but that they'll grow up and be a light into the world. That they'll impact their world and cross the seas to give their God-given talents away. My ultimate dream is that they too would be in love with the world's children and bring a few of them home.

This is a wonderful post. It is such a great and true representation of the sweeties that we are so blessed to know and love. You are truly someone that I look up to and I feel blessed to have you as a friend. I have learned so much about being a mother from you...thanks.
