My New Year's Babe

Six years ago I gave birth to my first daughter, who we refer to here as "Elizabeth". I pray that I don't ever forget the details of how our children came to us. I didn't even sleep on New Year's Eve as we played cards with family and friends and at about 12:30 am I turned in, to only not be able to sleep...it wouldn't take long to figure out why!! Our beautiful daughter was born after only 2 hours of labor (she was our second born but my first "natural" birth as our son was delivered via C-section) and I must brag a bit and say she and I were drug free...no I.V's or any other type of intervention. It was my desire and God helped me get through it all. She was born in a hospital with a wonderful midwife named Candice. Elizabeth was an easy baby but not a very cuddly one. She was independent (although I nursed her for 27 months) and didn't like to be hugged on and kissed. I am so glad now though at six years old this has all changed. Just this morning she snuggled up with me on the couch and loves to be loved on. I can even do her hair for the fun of it!! It seems her turning point was at about 5 years old where her sweet personally really began to blossom. Now in kindergarten she is reading and loves math! Today for her birthday she wanted to go to Frankenmuth and adopt a baby doll. They have a really neat program there. She once told me that when she grows up she is going to be a mom and if she can't have babies than she will just adopt them! My heart was so blessed today that when she went to adopt her baby doll she chose her baby "from Ethiopia". Sometimes I don't know how she feels about Major Cutie as they fight quite a bit but today I see my daughter lovingly taking care of her Ethiopian Princess "Miley". So cute!
Here's the cake my daughter requested. OK, well she wanted a Cheetah cake and this was just the best that I could do! LOL!The girls on their way to pick up Babydoll Miley! She spots her right away...just like a mother would!Signing something...must be Embassy stuff!!The baby getting her exist exam by the nurse...The proud new mommy and her beautiful daughter!

I absolutely love this post! Where in the world is Frankenmuth and what is it? I swear the things they think of in the city - my girls would love this! They too adopt their babies when they play, only it's usually from Guatemala. :)
