6 months of conversations

I've been trying to think of all our talks about Ethiopia between Major Cutie and myself over the past six months. Many of them have made her cry. It must be so confusing and she would often mix up what happened in Ethiopia with events that actually took place here. As of late she has been crying over her dad in Ethiopia, although she never met him. He died in a car accident while her mother was 7 months pregnant with Major Cutie. For several nites in a row she would pray and ask Jesus to see her dad in Ethiopia. She missed him she would say. I guess she misses the idea of him, of knowing she must have had a dad she never knew. Either way, it's hard to know how to handle that.
In the beginning she would also talk about being left alone in the dark and the chickens pecking her fingers. Now she has left most of those memories behind. Once in a while she will pray for her sister and Momma Medina to come to America. I am preparing personally how we will prepare her to meet her brothers "M" and "B" when they come home to Angie and Joe (see their link on the side bar). We have prayed together for them often and she knows they are coming to America. She has not even questioned why they will have a different mommy or daddy. I think Major Cutie just thinks that is "normal"...for now. I imagine it'll be some time. We won't meet them at the airport or meet for a playdate anytime soon. The boys will need time. And we are more than willing to give them all the time they need. They now have their whole lives to spend together. How awesome is that?

I think it is so awesome how the Lord orchestrated these kiddos would grow up together after being blessed with new families all the way around the world. Isn't He just too good sometimes?
