a simple blessing

Many times our children can really amaze us with their kindness. Today I witnessed one of those moments. I had asked my 6 year old daughter if she thought she could put away her pile of clean clothes. I was being sincere and was ready to do it myself if she wasn't up to the task (she has been sick and had an ear ache earlier today). She agreed and soon realized how big her pile was. So I suggested she do it in two trips. Nope, my dear daughter was going to get it all done at once...fast forward a minute later as she dumped them on the stairs and for ten minutes she cried, whined, almost went loony. I calming suggested she might want to now make the two trips. Nope. Major Cutie looks at me while eating her Valentine cookie sent all the way from Indy by Grandma Sandy...

"Mom, you not hear her?"

"Yes, I do hear her. I told her what she could do and she doesn't want to do it that way."

Fast forward another 10 minutes (My oldest still carrying on)

Major Cutie says,

"Mom, can I help 'Elizabeth' when I done with my cake (the cookie)?"

"Yes, that would be very nice."

A simple blessing to see kindness come so freely from your children.

also, that is so neat that Grandma sent cookies for the kiddos. What a great treat!
